Childhood period is one of the most important periods of any human’s life. According to the definition of UNICEF global organization, childhood period requires specific cares and assistance from the family; Since family is main part of a society, it is a natural and safe environment for growth and welfare of all members of a family specially children; however growth and satisfaction of children needs is not completed at the family and maybe half of the children expectations are met in the city and the facilities thereof.
To notice different dimensions of children needs, a statement entitled “Children-Friendly City” was presented in a global meeting in October 2019. This statement was leading urban developers and mayors within the direction of establishing children-friendly cities and protecting children rights especially handicapped and physically disabled children. According to this statement children may play critical role in development and resilience of a city; they are also connecting the past and future generation.
Facilities and services of urban space are established in view of culture, local society and global standards. To be able to establish such city, we shall give priority to supply needs and demands of children, then we will be able to claim that concerned utopia has been created. At the end we shall mention that the whole issues which have been brought up, have been the reasons and main concerns for holding the present international symposium (Kids’ Utopia); to fulfill the said goals, the Kids’ Utopia symposium is ready to receive valid articles from all experts of this field. We hope this symposium may be a source for joyful and effective presence of our homeland children in the cities of Iran and an encouragement for our country’s managers to pay more attention to this influential group of societies.
